Merindah-Gunya, meaning 'Beautiful Spirit' in Peek Whurrong language, is the name Bayley received from her Elders and parents. She is a proud, Peek Whurrong woman from Warrnambool. Bayley began creating Aboriginal art as a child and is grateful to keep this tradition alive today. She now calls Wurundjeri Country in Naarm (Melbourne) home.
We collaborated closely with Bayley, merging our bold styling and graphics with her rich storytelling artwork. Bayley's artwork tells a story about the journey of coming back to self -remembering who you are, where you came from and the stories that guide you. It represent the deep connection between self and Country, and the power that grows when we stand confidently in our identities.
